Qindil for iOS · Version 1.0 · Effective 7 August 2026
Qindil collects no personal data. There is no server, no account, no advertising and no tracker. Everything you do in the app — your location, your logged prayers, your reading progress — stays in your iPhone's private storage and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

All of the following is stored on your device only. None of it is transmitted to anyone, including us.
| Data | Purpose | Where |
|---|---|---|
| GPS coordinates (one-off capture) | Compute prayer times and qibla direction | Your device |
| Logged prayers, streak, missed prayers | Your personal tracking | Your device |
| Quran reading progress, favourites | Resume where you left off | Your device |
| Fasting days, dhikr, settings | Your preferences and tracking | Your device |
| Dispensation period (عذر) | Pause prayer reminders and protect your streak | Your device |
Location is captured occasionally, never continuously: the app performs no movement tracking. It is refreshed only when you open the app and the last reading is more than three hours old, or when you explicitly ask for it.
One thing only: Quran audio files. When you listen to or download a recitation, your device requests it from the hosting server (quranicaudio.com). That server then sees your IP address and the surah number requested — exactly as any website you visit would. Nothing else: not your name, not your location, not what you do in the app.
If you never play a recitation, no data ever leaves your device.
As with any iOS app, Qindil's data may be included in your iPhone backup (iCloud or computer), which belongs to you and which we cannot access. Downloaded recitations are explicitly excluded from backups so they do not fill your iCloud storage.
Processing your location and sending notifications rely on your consent, given through iOS system permissions and revocable at any time in your iPhone Settings. As no data is transmitted, there is no recipient, no transfer outside the European Union and no processor.
Data relating to your religious practice and to the dispensation period falls under the special categories of Article 9 GDPR. It is processed exclusively on your device, on the basis of your explicit consent, and is disclosed to no one.
Your data stays on your device until you erase it from within the app or uninstall Qindil. Uninstalling deletes everything.
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction and objection. Since all your data is on your device and we hold no copy:
Questions: contact@capmedia.tn. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL).
Qindil is not directed at children and knowingly collects no data about them — the app collects no data about anyone.
Any change to this policy will be published on this page with a new effective date. Should the app ever transmit any data, it would be announced here and inside the app before going live.
